Vellum Wardrobe Privacy Policy
Vellum Wardrobe (“Vellum”) is a wardrobe app that works with photographs of you and of your clothes. This policy says what we collect, how we use it, who receives it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it. The current list of providers, regions and retention periods is kept on a separate Data details page, which we update as the app changes.
1. What we collect
- Account information — the name and email address (or Apple's private relay address) your sign-in provider shares, and the identifiers needed to run your account and reach your device, such as a push-notification token if you allow notifications.
- Content you provide — photographs of yourself and of clothing, and the text and choices you make in the app, such as your style preferences.
- Generated content — the images and video the app makes for you from your content, and the records that organize them.
- Purchase records — which products you bought and your credit balance and movements. Apple processes payment; we never see your payment details.
- Device and usage information — device type and operating system, the screens and features you use, purchase amounts, crash and error reports, and a random identifier for your device used to limit free allowances.
- Messages you send us, when you contact support.
2. How we use it
We use this information to provide and operate the Services: to generate the images and video you ask for, keep your wardrobe in sync across your devices, process purchases and credits, send you the notifications you have allowed, answer your messages, and keep the Services secure and free of abuse. We use device and usage information to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. We keep the email address on your account so we can write to you about your account; we send news or offers only if you choose to receive them. We use your information to comply with law and to enforce our Terms.
When you search the web for clothes inside the app, your search words go to the search engine and the retailer sites the app looks at, as they would from a browser.
We may also use the photographs you provide and the content the app generates for you to develop, test, train and improve the app, its AI features and our own models. That may include review by our staff for quality and safety.
We do not sell your personal information, we show no advertising, and we do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and because there is nothing to opt out of, we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
3. Who receives it
We share information only with the categories of recipients below, and only as needed for the purpose named. Each is bound to protect your information to a standard at least as protective as this policy and Apple's App Store requirements.
- AI providers that generate images and video for us. Generating something sends the content it needs to a provider, and only then — nothing is sent unless you start a generation. A photograph of a person is sent only to the providers that make images of people. Which providers we use, what each receives and where they process are listed on the Data details page.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store your account and library and run our servers.
- Analytics providers that receive device and usage information — never your photographs or your name.
- Apple, for sign-in, purchases and notifications, under Apple's own terms.
- Authorities and others when the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
4. Photographs of your face and body
The app's core feature is a picture of clothing on a model made from your photograph. Your photographs are stored in your account, sent to our AI providers only when you start a generation, and used as section 2 describes. We do not use them to identify you or anyone else, and we do not build or keep a template of anyone's face. You decide what to upload, and you can delete any photograph or your whole account at any time.
5. How long we keep it
Your account and library are kept for as long as your account is open. Working copies made for a generation, and files awaiting collection by your device, are kept only as long as needed to complete the job and are then deleted on a schedule. Purchase and credit records are kept while your account exists, and the records required for accounting and tax are kept for as long as the law requires, with no photographs attached. The records used to limit free allowances — your sign-in identity with your account and device identifiers — are kept after deletion for that one purpose. The current schedule is on the Data details page.
When you delete something, it disappears from the app and your account at once. Copies persist briefly in ordinary operational backups so a fault on our side can be repaired; those are not searched, shared or used for anything else, and they expire on their own.
6. Deleting your account and your rights
Settings → Profile → Delete my account, inside the app, erases the server's copy — your photographs, records, balance and the account itself — and then your device's copy. If you signed in with Apple, the sign-in grant is revoked at the same time. You can also write to the address below to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to a use of it; deleting in the app is faster and just as complete. Images already processed by a provider are subject to that provider's own retention, and what a model of ours has already learned from your content is not undone by deletion.
7. Security
Your information is stored and transmitted using industry-standard encryption, and access to it inside Diorama Labs is limited to the people and systems that need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that yours will never be breached.
8. Children
Vellum is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and it must not be used to make images of children. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, write to the address below and we will delete it.
9. Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States and store your information there. Some providers process information in other countries; the Data details page says which.
10. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters — new information collected, a new use, a new category of recipient, longer retention — the change is stated here with a new effective date, and material changes are shown in the app before they apply to you. Changes to the Data details page alone — a provider replaced, a retention period shortened — are made there with the date they took effect.
